Memorial Day

We went to the Alabama Jubilee hot air balloon festival on Saturday. There were all kinds of things to do. We got to see the car show and antique tractor show. Elliott (who is obsessed with John Deere tractors) really enjoyed the tractor show. The kids got to jump on every type of inflatable toy known to man. Harris and Elliott got to have there picture made in one of the balloon baskets. Due to windy conditions, there wasn’t a balloon race that afternoon, but they did inflate them around dark.

Harris' "UnBirthday"

At Harris’ preschool, everyone gets to celebrate their birthday during the school year. Since his is during the summer, he had an “UnBirthday” Party. Here are a few pictures of his and Joseph’s party.

Talladega in the Spring

Harris and I went to see qualifying and the Nationwide race at Talladega a couple of weeks ago. This was his first race and I think he really had a good time (even having to put up with Danny and Brandon giving him crap about being a Jeff Gordon fan!).
At first, I thought he was going to be a little disappointed because on the way there he was talking about how he couldn’t wait to meet Jeff Gordon and see them change the tires (like on TV).

Here are a few pictures.

The ride home.

Camping

A few weeks ago Lou and I took Harris and Joseph camping or “tenting out in Lou’s parent’s back field” as Verno from ‘Stand by Me’ says. We had a great time camping, cooking out hotdogs and roasting marshmallows. We even had live entertainment. The next day we went walking through the woods and playing by the creek. Harris tried to see who could fall in the creek the most times. Needless to say, he won.
